About the conference
Welcome Message SAL 2023
Dear colleagues and friends,
the Organizing Committee is pleased to invite you to participate in the 51st conference SYNTHESIS AND ANALYSIS OF DRUGS (SAL 2023) that will take place in Bratislava (Slovak Republic) as an onsite event from September 7 to 8, 2023.
- Synthesis and Analysis of Drugs (Syntéza a analýza liečiv) is an annual conference held alternately in the Czech and in the Slovak Republic. It has a long tradition dating back to 1971.
- The conference covers all aspects of pharmaceutical chemistry and analysis, including adjoining fields such as biochemistry, pharmacology, molecular biology, bioorganic and bioinorganic chemistry, and related disciplines.
- The conference will be organized under the auspices and on the premises of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Comenius University in Bratislava.
- The contributions (oral presentations and posters) can be presented in English, Czech or Slovak.
- There will be a possibility to publish the articles based on conference contributions in a special issue of an international scientific journal.

The conference is dedicated to Professor Jozef Čižmárik on the occasion of his 80th birthday.

Programme
Oral lectures
Regular oral presentations will last approximately 15 minutes (plenary lectures 30 minutes), including 5 minutes for discussion. Please make sure to leave enough time for the discussion. Presentation should be prepared as PowerPoint files (.ppt/.pptx) or, if necessary, in other common presentation formats. Speakers will be asked to submit their presentations before the conference start.
Posters
Authors presenting a poster should note that provided poster boards‘ size is A0 (approx. 90 cm x 120 cm), portrait orientation. Material and instructions for setting up the posters will be provided by organizers upon the registration. Presenting authors of the posters are invited to be available in front of their posters for questions during the poster session.

Registration
The registration fee covers the conference materials, admission to all the scientific sessions, and coffee breaks. The admission of undergraduate students to all lectures is free. The confirmation of your registration will be sent via e-mail from the official conference email address, including your registration number.
Conference fee – means of payment (bank transfer)

For all payments it is necessary to use the variable symbol: 7892023. Please include in the “Note for payment” your name and registration number. The registration number will be sent to you via email after registration. Otherwise, we may have difficulties to properly assign the payment to the conference attendant.
Cancellation policy:
All cancellations must come in written form physically or electronically. For cancellations received by August 15, 2023, the full amount of the conference fee minus administration costs will be refunded. The refunds will be made after the conference. For cancellations received after August 15, 2023, no refunds can be made.
Liability & Insurance
Neither the Organisers nor the Organizing Committee will assume any responsibility whatsoever for damage or injury to persons or property during the conference. It is thus recommended that participants arrange their own personal travel, health and liability insurance.

Abstracts
The authors of conference presentations or posters are kindly requested to submit a research abstract pertaining to their contribution. The required form of abstract is provided in a template. Conference abstracts will be published in European Pharmaceutical Journal. There is also the possibility to publish a Short Communication (not exceeding 1200 words) in the aforementioned journal. If this is the case, please use the corresponding template.
